I spent half my CNY doing sucky labbies...ended up with lack of sleep and snoozing in every house i went. It was so terrible man...year of the pig really sleep like a log! Just today, which is chu er, my mummy said calendar says this is the worse day of the month with rain throughout the day. Then it started to rain, how true can it be? Hard not to believe sometimes. But raining is only a climate thing. The worse thing did happen!!! If guan gong never po pi our family, i wouldn't have been here to tell ya these. While on our way to fetch 4th aunt, we were driving along AYE, then there was this trailer that brake suddenly and the driver swerved to the right. His container behind has no brakes so it trusted the whole vehicle forward causing it to swerve like a snake. It was right before our eyes. the car in front of us had his front bumper blown to the 3rd lane. Luckily the ABS cut in at the right time, else, the container would have hit out chassis and god knows whether what would happen. We were damn lucky like my parents say. Then mummy say cus father kana summon few days back so that was xiao1 zai1 dang3 zai1..hahaha...maybe that is a sign. Our hearts dropped...mummy cant even swallow her last mouth of Macs..hahaha...Afterall, all these trauma is too much for her to take.Today was merry-go-round (a term used by the Lim's family cus we always go Frankel Ave then Hougang and last stop, Ang Mo Kio). It was annual visitation affair to my late grandmother's sisters and sister-in-law. It's really sweet to still keep such contacts year after year. Having seen them for almost 21 years, they really had aged, just like me! Oh my...how fast can time fly? A year can change a lot. It was this year that I've seen suay lao yi hunch a little more than last year, suay lao yi cant stand for long and suay lao kim walking around with a walking stick (she's almost 90). But they're still fit as a fiddle. Health is super important...so is sister and brother love just like what aunt terry said today. We do have a loving family! and I am so loving it:)I always admire what suay lao yi's family would do to help each other. Like many years ago, their sister got a stroke and was wheelchair-bound. She couldn't do anything at all. They hired 2 maids to take care of her. She had to be tube-fed. Both her children are around my age. Every year, when we meet her at suay lao yi's house, she would try to give a smile. I think it has really been a hard time for her. Only 2 years back, she could raise her hand a little to shake hands with us. It was a different feeling today without her presence cus she passed on last year. I remember her sisters saying how they would bring her for shopping because they could not bring her for overseas trip (she actually teared because she wanted to go korea with the family but it will be too much trouble to bring her along). And she love sour prunes but just cannot eat them. The sister would bite a little and chew, then put it in a hankerchief and put it in her mouth so she could at least taste a little. They're a loving bunch of people really...And i am loving these bits and pieces of CNY - the BONDING!!!
